<bio><p>Dr. Tzung-Shiang Ou is an assistant professor in Health Education and Promotion, holding a Ph.D. in Health Behavior from Indiana University-Bloomington. Previously, he worked as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department in Taiwan, where he observed the challenges faced by patients dealing with substance use and misuse, particularly those with mental health and domestic violence issues. He noticed social and structural barriers that these patients encountered when seeking treatment. These experiences ignited his passion for health behavior research, with a specific focus on substance use studies. As a trained health behavior educator and researcher, Dr. Ou is interested in applying theoretical approaches to his teaching and research. During his doctoral training at Indiana University-Bloomington, Dr. Ou received support from an NIH-funded R01 project. He served as a project coordinator in a longitudinal study that focused on conducting Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) with a measurement burst design among college student e-cigarette users. Dr. Ou is a member of the American Academy of Health Behavior.</p>
