Biography
I'm an Associate Professor of School Psychology in the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences at Utah State University and an adjunct professor of pediatrics and psychiatry at the University of Utah School of Medicine. My research focuses on technology-enabled behavioral health systems in school and community settings, including teleconsultation, telehealth, artificial intelligence and augmented intelligence tools, immersive simulation, and virtual learning environments.
My work emphasizes scalable implementation models that increase access to evidence-based behavioral and mental health services for children, adolescents, educators, and families, particularly in rural and underserved communities. I collaborate extensively with school districts, healthcare systems, and state agencies to advance workforce development, implementation science, behavioral consultation, and integrated school-linked behavioral health initiatives.
I'm the founder of the Utah School Mental Health Collaborative, Board President of the Mountain West School Mental Health Foundation, and have served as principal investigator or co-investigator on numerous state and federally funded initiatives focused on expanding behavioral health access, strengthening the behavioral health workforce, advancing telehealth delivery systems, and developing technology-assisted training and consultation models. My work seeks to bridge research, practice, and technology to build scalable systems that improve behavioral health and educational outcomes.
