Biography

I am apart of the Diné (Navajo) and a member of the Navajo Nation. I am a doctoral student at Utah State University in the Combined Clinical/Counseling Psychology PhD Specialization working with Dr. Melissa Tehee in the Tohi Lab. I received my bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Criminology and Justice Studies from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Broadly, my research interests are to explore the systemic oppression that Indigenous communities face (e.g., historical trauma, discrimination, stereotypes, etc) and its impact on Native identity and community, well-being, and mental health outcomes. Outside of academics, I love to binge-watch shows, listen/find new music, dance, play volleyball, and hike.
