What is ACT Guide for Parents of Children with Disabilities?

  • ACT Guide for Parents of Children with Disabilities (AG for POCD) is a six session digital mental health intervention based on acceptance and commitment therapy designed for parents of children with disabilities.
  • AG for POCD was designed to help improve quality of life and mental health of parents of children with disabilities. 
  • AG for POCD can help you navigate difficult emotions on your parenting journey while connecting to what matters to help improve your quality of life.

How do you know ACT Guide for Parents of Children with Disabilities is useful for you?

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, an approach to mental health skills that can improve your overall well-being, has over 1,000 randomized controlled trials showing its positive effects for diverse groups of people (State of the ACT Evidence).
  • ACT has growing evidence base that it is helpful for parents of children with disabilities (Byrne et al., 2021).

Transparency in costs

  • AG for POCD is $25 to access the program for 6-month period. You can use it as soon or as late in that six months and access the program repeatedly in this time.
  • Any funds made above and beyond program management will be used to assist research and training projects facilitated by the Center for Mental Health Promotion and The Utah State University ACT Research Group.
